1 Minute Maine 6/30/2020: CMP Corridor on the Ballot, Theaters Reopening & Booming Fireworks Sales

The board of education in Portland may vote this evening to end its relationship with the Portland Police Department and their school resource officers. New coronavirus cases have been reported this week at the Cumberland County jail and the Long Creek Youth Development Center in Portland. Smitty’s Cinemas in Topsham will reopen on July 17th, but not everyone is ready to go back to the movies. Fireworks sales are booming here in Maine this summer, and a Maine superior court judge has allowed a ballot question to proceed this fall. The questions will ask Mainers if they support the new “CMP corridor.”
