1 Minute Maine 6/8/2020: More Businesses & Gyms Opening Up, Old Police Shooting Charges & Virtual Graduations

Gyms, salons, tattoo parlors and other businesses are set to open this week in 13 of Maine’s 16 counties. Cumberland, York and Androscoggin counties still have to wait. The district attorney in Bangor is threatening to prosecute a reserve police officer for the 2007 shooting death of an 18-year-old man if the Maine Attorney General’s office doesn’t file charges. More than 1000 people gathered over the weekend in Augusta to protest racism and police brutality, and two Maine colleges have announced virtual commencement ceremonies this year.
