Just over a week, ago, the head of the Maine Policy Institute, formerly the Maine Heritage Policy Center, was calling the public health response to the COVID-19 pandemic “mass hysteria” and an illogical overreaction. Now, the conservative group believes the situation is dire enough that significant policy actions must be taken. Among their recommendations: corporate tax breaks and a reduction in the state minimum wage.
