Maine Beacon: As Pandemic Spreads, Conservative Group Moves to Cut Maine’s Minimum Wage

Just over a week, ago, the head of the Maine Policy Institute, formerly the Maine Heritage Policy Center, was calling the public health response to the COVID-19 pandemic “mass hysteria” and an illogical overreaction. Among their recommendations: corporate tax breaks and a reduction in the state minimum wage.

On this mini-episode of the Beacon podcast, Ben, Esther and Mike discuss the latest coronavirus updates, some bad actors like MPI and, more importantly, some great work being down by volunteers across the state to support Maine’s most vulnerable.
